Animoto

Using Animoto has contributed to my digital literacy, as I am now familiar with a new tool that can be used to create videos and slideshows with virtually any content, either pre-existing or original. One of my initial goals in this course was to be able to add more creative tools to my PLE. By learning how to use Animoto this week, I have partially fulfill this goal and look forward to learning about other tools like this to create family photo slideshows in the future. Through exploring Animoto, I was also able to practice digital responsibility, as content from other authors was used to create the short picture slideshow featured above. Digital responsibility includes citing and using information posted on the internet in the way that the original author intended. I have included the references for the photos used throughout the slideshow below in order to give credit to their respective authors. For the most part, these images were found through a creative commons, which allowed me to lawfully use these images. There are a lot of great tools on the internet that allow for the creation of a new video, story or project, called "remixing". Although these tools are convenient and present original content in new ways, it is important to ensure that credit is given to the original authors of the material, and that one abides by copyright laws.
